In the Midlands the cables have been getting chopped off to steal the copper :talktothehand

My wife's electric car has died, smell of burning in cab and no drive function, cant get fixed till end of may with no courtesy car, supposedly 7 year warranty But doesn't cover 12 volt system cos that has only 2 year warranty and car is 4 years old with only 17k on the clock. Now if i had gone to Scotland in it which we do from time to time i would be a tads miffed but luckily i have my trusty van.
In my experience, the Kia warranty isn’t the best, it’s also hit and miss with regards to the quality of your local garage. Kia’s stance in my experience is, they don’t offer a courtesy car until it’s been inspected and they have accepted the warranty claim, the bad part is the dealer network, as in my case one quoted 4 weeks to even look at my car, one refused to take it at all. Kia technically don’t recovery of your vehicle to a garage if it isn’t drivable (I was advised by Kia not to drive it). I had to pay to have mine transported 30 miles to another Kia garage that agreed to take the car and inspect it within two week.

But many don’t live or holiday in the South-East.
You don't need to. The whole reason we've gone electric is that for several years we have visited all over the UK in electric vehicles with no real issues using a combination of our home charger to fill up for around £3 and a variety of Zap Map and Tesla public chargers, which also allows non-Tesla use and is still cheaper than paying for diesel! There are almost 120, 000 of them in total...

Sorry, cost doesn't come into it. Convenience does. Not everyone has a home power station or a driveway to charge on. And the fact you have an app to tell you which chargers are available or even working and your route is constrained by charger availability means I'll stick with hybrid or tsi until real world ev catches up.

Blimey! Sounds a lot like VW!

Not only is there an app, but the vehicles themselves route you to the nearest charger, via sat nav. To each their own. And for many cost IS an implication.

It's the future.
