Lights in upper bedroom

Hi, last night the lights in the upper bedroom failed. They were working early evening. When I pressed either switch in the upper area later in the evening they didn’t work. Going to the lighting screen all the lights switch on and off except for the two switches for the upper area. They initially turn blue and then go black again. There is no temporary light when I pressed either switch Does anyone have any idea what has happened? Or can suggest a way forward?

Usually, if the roof's dropped, pop top lights just won't work until fully raised again.

I’d hope I didn’t need to wait till the lights failed to notice the roof was drooping/canvas flapping about?

Thanks, I will try when I get back to the van. Currently at the Goodwood Revival watching the racing!! The roof did not look to be sagging, but I will check as soon as I’m back at the van

Your suggestion worked a treat. Looking at the roof alongside another van, you could see the roof was possibly not as taut, but I have an elastic around the canvas to assist the folding. The roof wouldn’t raise any furthe. So, I lowered a little and raised again. The lights are now working. So, many thanks you have enabled me to read in bed again!!

Yup, they all do that. Lower the roof a bit then raise it. Another foible of the California.

We ought to write a ‘California the hidden delights!’ Manual. All the bits VW don’t tell us, but we learn eventually!!
