The infotainment system in my 2017 Ocean has recently had the latest 2026/27 maps installed.

I am frustrated by the fact that the map doesn’t pan with the progress of the journey. If zoomed in, it is necessary to constantly select the ‘centre vehicle’ option in order to keep the vehicle on the map. This is not only frustrating but also distracting.

Is there a solution to this problem?

No, because it’s working normally.
1. You can alter the map scale from Yards/inch to 100’s miles/inch and the Car icon will follow the highlighted route and the map will scroll to keep the vehicle icon in the centre of the screen BUT every time there is a route change then it will automatically zoom in to show the route change in detail and once you have completed the direction change zoom out back to the set scale.

2. The zoom function is there basically to aid in defining a destination point if is not in the built in POI dataset or select a point in a Post Code.

If you set Map Zoom rather than Map Scale then the although the vehicle icon will move as you drive the map Will Not scroll to keep the vehicle in the centre of the display.

Apart from the obvious, use Waze, that is how all sat navs work. The auto pan is only on the default zoom view because the nav thinks where you have zoomed or panned to is what you want to see, regardless of where the car is.

Just take it back to the default screen setting.
