Habitation Checks

I seem to have kicked a hornets' nest over on a local Transporter group. I stated that I didn't think that habitation checks are required with a California as the installation is fully TUV compliant, and that sensible owner checks are sufficient. I check the rubber hose biannually, and all systems are in OFF when in transit. I got a bit shouted down, but I think that one of the posters is a campervan "specialist" selling the service. My Cali is approaching it's 5th birthday.

Am I wrong?

Never had a habitation check in 18years, it’s only the gas to check which you would smell if it was leaking, its only the rubber hose as the rest of the system is metal pipe.

Not wrong.
Unless you hire out the vehicle commercially as a camper van and then usually a condition of the Insurance.

Not wrong, but I guess that’s why they are a Transporter group and we are a Cali group...
