Door window wind deflector damage

Hi all, a few months ago in Italy we noticed a weird knick in the passenger side winddeflector after we had parked the car in a city. Now a few weeks later a similar knick was found on the driver's side. See pictures attached below. Few questions:

1) Has anyone experienced something similar and if so , what would you attribute it to. My guess would be attempted break in.
2) Do you think that I can straighten it back by using boiling water. I do understand that it probably will be a weak spot after doing that.

It is normal and always there. Mine look the same I assume it was to help secure/locate it.

Thanks , just weird we had not noticed before, maybe it moved slightly and started making some wind noise
