DSG service.

I am due my main service on my 2022 cali. Have been quoted £500. Have asked about my DSG fluid change at my main dealer they have quoted another £500 but there is a shortage of dsg fluid which means waiting at least a couple of months more. Any comments from members pls

I'd ask a local independent. My local did my DSG service for £250.

They might also be better at their consumable ordering.

Especially if that wait puts you over the mileage.

Apparently no fluid in the country from VW. VW parts on line are £175 per litre 5-6 litres needed.

I wouldn't trust a thing my 2 local VW garages said.

They might not be able to get it but they will have 1 single distribution network. AS @RedWhiteMonkey has shown you can buy it online now.

My invoice from the independent was £113 for 6 litres of DSG oil and £93.75 labour, both plus VAT

The “genuine” VW DSG fluid for the DQ500 transmission is supplied to them by Fuchs. It is readily available outside the VW dealer network as Fuchs Titan FFL-2.

As in it isn't some magical fluid VW carefully design from dinosaur to bottle.

Millers will have far more involvement in that oil you linked at 1/3 of the price than VW will in theirs and further highlights VW's intention.

Mines booked in to vw Liverpool next week to be done. £380 they've quoted.
My local garage quoted £520 using the vw recommended oil. Other garages were over £600 so went with vw Liverpool.

6.5 litres will do it. You need access to a
VAG com or something similar, also a filter to change and a pump and adapter to fit the drain plug as it is filled from the drain. We do have a shortage of oils I tried to get some for my Rotax aero engine the other day and it is in short supply.

I had my DSG fluid changed last week and there was no mention of them not being able to get the oil. It was £325 inc VAT at VW Tewksbury. They are a new VW approved repairer opened in June this year and are 5 minutes from the M5 junction.

I had the same conversation with Preston Van Centre….where I bought my van from.
They refused to take my booking for DSG service due to shortage of oil….but quoted me £440 if they managed to get any.
Took it to VW Ingrams in Ayr…first time I have ever contacted them.I phoned on Tuesday & they changed oil on the Friday £310
Great dealer & great service…will certainly use again.

Local hourly pay rates, I worked with main dealer networks for many years and it was always cheaper “up north” because of this. There is a huge pay divide between gods country and down there in the smelly bit

Not all require a filter vin number check shows if required or not, filter is about £20 extra.
