Said a sad farewell to our Cali T6.1 and moved on to WildAx Aurora Leisure XL .
Loved the T6.1 Cali .. Disliked the T7 ?
So sad it was a fabulous vehicle that required a few adjustments inside to make it even better but it never happened..
Happy Camping Everyone..

did you sell privately out of interest? or p/x i'm trying to p/x mine and some of the offers suggest dealers don't wan them (or they are extremely greedy offering way less that WBAC prices)

I had dealers offer everything form 38k (Granthams) to 45k ( Lowdhams and Cara ) against a new campervan, sold it privately for much more (2024 ocean )
Pickup a new Sunlight Cliff X 640 in 2 weeks

Hello, sorry to intrude here but can I ask where you advertised it in the end with success?

sort of reflects my experience, where did you order the Sunlight from out of interest? i'm looking at a Carado cv540 Pro, would go Sunlight but i don't like the colour choices, though its the same van otherwise

On here of course

The Sunlight I got from Lowdhams, not an order from factory but a variant they had out back, I was just browsing the display model - it had a pop top I didn’t want - and they mentioned they had a recent one come in with all the spec I wanted - Diesel heating , all the packs, solar etc in expedition grey. Also looked at a joa by polite which had a great spec as standard but the Sunlight was not much more.
Would have loved a Grand California but quite a bit more pricey new and maybe not as well rounded.
Will miss the Ocean as I had done nearly 50k in 2 years going to the lakes almost every weekend, and it never missed a beat, but it was time for a few more refinements for us.

right, yes Lowdhams is about the closest to me, though I've heard mixed reviews on aftersales, though to be fair that would seem i apply to most "dealers" (inc VW ones)

good news about selling on here, £40 seems a bit pricey, i was under the impression that most people on here had Cali's so wouldn't be much potential market, i might have to give that a try first then, on the plus side my WBAC offer has gone up £4k in the last 2 weeks!

I bought our Cali through this site.

I can recommend camper uk in Lincoln, just purchased a vehicle from them and had some electrical mods done, very friendly and efficient company in my experience.

I 2nd Camper UK, Richard was a brilliant guy and they have a real friendly feel to the whole process.
The support on email / telephone I’ve had over the last year is 2nd to none.
Also £30k off a brand Laika.
The fiat is awesome to drive. Love it.
Sorry to OP for thread hijack !

But, have you lay in bed and not feel claustrophobic ?
I hope you don’t suffer.
I bought a Adria twin max 600 SB, the only one / prototype in the UK.
I lasted 2 hours sleep in the back then had to drive home and sell it. The claustrophobic feeling was awful.

thanks i did reach out to Camper UK but no one called me back unfortunately

as for claustrophia, can't be worst that the Cali surely, the main point of making this move is to get more space :D

How rude !
They’ve been doing a lot of stuff recently, so they might have been really busy. But rest assured they are really great. Highly reccomended. Give Richard a call and ask for him to call you.
Also email him here

The Cali with the roof up and you’re looking down the van lengthwise, is great.
In the MAN, sideways and with 1/2 foot between head and a cupboard or 2 foot between ceiling it was awful.

So I managed to speak to someone from CamperUK on Friday it wasn’t Richard though, unfortunately they are interested in offering any discount on the Carado, free solar panel but the other dealer I spoke to was giving the solar panel and offering a bit of a discount, which is a shame as CamperUk is an hour closer to me.

That’s a pity, I’m guessing you told them about the other dealers offer?
And had it in writing so they could maybe price match it ?
A solar panel is around £120, so it’s not a lot on 100k worth of Moho tbh.
I thought they came with solar anyway.

I wished mine hadn’t come with 1 panel as I got my power requirements all done with Roger and his son Nigel at OffGrid power solutions in Wantage.
Great price and excellent price for the amount of work done.
I bought the £4k worth of bits and the 3 day install was £2k
Victron 3kw, 2x 300ah Fogstar’s drift, 2 Victron chargers, Victron dcdc, extra sockets, raspberry pi with Venus OS and all the cables.

£950 they quoted for a single flexi panel in the roof, Carado don’t offer a factory option with the pop top only without, and yeah I told them the price the other dealer offered, frustratingly the other dealer wants a monster deposit which I’m not comfortable with.

Widen your search, there will be the vehicle out there for you.
Ah, didn’t realise it needs to be a flexi sticking panel.
I’m my opinion they are not a good panel for longitivy
I’d have some Renogy 16 BB anti shadow panels for £120 each, 2 of them and stuck on with special mounts by Nigel at OffGrid.
Depends how long you want to keep the vehicle.
5 years, stick a flexi on then it’s someone’s else problem.
Keeping it longer, do it right (Renogy, glass panel) 1st time.

The other great dealer i know of is, again, another Richard, at CamperSales in Burgess Hill.
Gets some great deals.

Also check you’re happy with the bolt right upright lounge bench seat.
Couldn’t sit in it for longer than 1 hour.
If you’re only eating dinner there, then lounging in captains chairs fair enough.

I wanna order new and the Carado is the only option at this price point, the rear seat is my main concern, as it’s right for the kids, ideally a Knaus Boxlife 540 with the individual sliding seats would be my first choice, but it’s £17k more expensive, which is a lot to give the kids some extra comfort!

The NEC show isn’t far away now, there’ll be show offers on vans with quite large discounts.

This is a great idea.
With the amount of vans being sold, could be a buyers market !

Hello, afraid I took the offer p/x just decided to move on could have waited and probably got a few ££s more but had made my mind up to let it go as it was starting to be ( Needy ) so let it go for a bit less..Someone going to get a good vehicle though..

I might be interested in the Outwell tarp thing (the one that slides into the awning rail) if you have pictures & price.
