So I decided to clear the front drainage holes on my T5.1 pop top today ….50% success still struggling with drivers side despite all the ideas & suggestions in everyone’s previous posts.
Thought I’d call time for today & try again tomorrow but stupid me left the black plastic electrics cover (that has to be removed to gain access to drainage hole) on the roof & as it closed I completely crushed it in the mechanism of the roof.
Luckily no damage to roof but any ideas where I can get a new one or if they are even available?

Thanks
Al

There should be a Part Number on the inner surface?

This i believe is part number 7H7877229D.
Showing as available through LLL Parts.

That’s great…thanks very much for your help on this…back to unblocking the drainage pipe now…

Just an update….
Had very little success trying to unblock the drainage pipe so ended up removing the scuttle panel cover…
3 hrs later had managed to free the wiper arms…they were a solid….took the panel off & what a revelation there..years of crud leaves & insects I didn’t even know existed!
Once cleared out only took 5 mins to clear blockage and now flows freely.
Long job but worth doing.

It’s the only way to do it. Repeat every couple of months. :cheers

How is all the Sh*t coming from thats blocking your tubes? they are protected when the roofs shut & quick wipe round to clear pine needles etc after the roof has been up should prevent the problem.
10 years with pop tops & never had a blocked tube.

I’m not saying they’re blocked, it’s just nice to make sure they’re clear and clean any junk out of the scuttle cavity. It’s like keeping the whole van clean - the best way is to not let it get dirty in the first place.
That said, the roof seal across the leading edge of the pop top isn’t a great design as it allows ingress of dirt. It should really be an air/water tight seal.
