T5 SE, '64 plate. A week before we left UK for France, the usual cluster of warning lights showed, suggesting ABS sensor broken, then oil sensor light occasionally. No problems with driving, no garage with availability. Oil level good. Been there before, so not too panicked. Drove well on trip to Vosges- Sud but more issues with all the above plus stop/start blue motion not available. Went to VW commercial garage in Belfort who were very quick to do free diagnostic check. They said it was ABS sensor and safe to drive. Fully booked for 3 weeks.
But a few days later I want EHU to charge my leisure battery for the fridge. Plugged in all night: no response. Using other EHU posts on site and other leads I conclude it's an electrics problem on board. BUT I am thinking the cluster of unrelated electrical issues I already had could be a repeat of a previous fox problem. Does the wiring for EHU to leisure battery go under the vehicle where foxes can nibble? If so, I will leave it till I can get to a VW dealer. But if not, I will make the time to chase fuses etc. Or just go for more days out to charge up the batteries! Engine running shows G symbol but EHU doesn't show plug symbol.

I assume that you have checked that the EHU circuit breaker in the rear cupboard is on?

As above.
No, EHU wiring all within the vehicle so cannot be damaged by hungry foxes/rats.

Thanks WG. That's what I was hoping. Much easier to DIY fix fuses and connections than chewed wiring looms under the van. I fitted 2 new leisure batteries 6 months ago so at least I know where most things are!

I think I will expand the toolkit I bring on holiday in future!

With engine running, battery shows 13.3v and G symbol. Running it for 15 mins has put the resting voltage back up above 12. But not enough to run a fridge reliably!

With a little help from Welsh Gas (circuit diagram posted nearly 8 years ago) I now have a plug symbol on the display and a working fridge.
WG, I salute you. You are a godsend to the Cali community.
And another thing I've learned: canicule is the French for heatwave!

What was the problem in the end?
