Hi Everyone - I’ve just purchased the new T7 California Ocean and already loving it. Currently buying all the gear (no idea !) haha

I’m looking at buying a Vango Hexi awning as I can use it either side unless anyone can suggest any thing else. Slowly building up some bit and researching. Would love to know people’s TOP 5 essentials for a van.

Thanks again

We just got the vango cove 3 from the club shop, had a cracking deal and its very good quality, fits both sides.

That’s great to hear. What’s the club shop? Sorry new to this haha. The reason I was thinking Hexi is more air and light etc. I was looking at the Vango Cove before! Thanks

Thanks for this. How does the new cove attatch either side? Sorry I’ll look at videos etc anyway as I like this awning and cheaper than the Hexi.

Vango cove 3 air, get the vango tempest pump and its up in a jiffy, once its connected to the rail its up within 6 mins and when packing away it goes completely flat without having to roll about on it like an excited maggot, even the wife is happy inflating the tubes on her own…win win.

Will be very interesting to hear how you get on with the T7. I lot of valid comments about it's shortcomings but I am also about to change my T6.1 Ocean for a T7 Ocean. Top 5 essentials for me are a large very good quality sleeping bag, a portable little pump in water container shower and a sit in collapsible shower tray thing so I can shower in the van and have the heater on, a jump starter pack from Halfords which has saved me many times, silver screens to give total black out used in conjunction with the blinds ( may not be necessary on the T7) and cross climate grippy tyres, 4 Motion great but soft compound tyres make a great second best.

Things we would miss in our T6.1.
Thetford Porta Potti.
120mm self inflating matress for downstairs.
Panda memory foam matress' for up and down.
Comfortz thermal screen cover. It stops the condensation from forming on the windscreen and does a proper job of cutting the light out.
We don't have a drive away awning, we use a Decathlon Quechua Base Arpenza 2.5m x 2.5m tent to throw all our crap into.
Smoke/co detector and Firestick.

I’ve never done this before so I have nothing to compare to. What I will say is the drive is unreal and it’s quick, it’s has all the gadgets as well. I like the lay out, I’ve gone for the duvalay sleeping bags and they seem great. The blinds it comes with are all black and trapping impressed with the quality. Thanks for your comments I really appreciate it.

It fits both sides (they all do) so you can have the wind out awning on one side and the drive away on the other, or you connect it directly to the wind out …easy peasy. :bananadance2
