Sometimes…………. I wish people were nicer

I think how nice it would be if some contributors on this forum thought more about their views or comments before posting. There’s wit and humour of course and nothing wrong with that, but some remarks and comments are just acerbic or downright rude and offensive and bring nothing of value to the thread.

It is the nature of the internet that this goes on but a real shame that it happens on this forum where surely we are all here as a result of a common interest and perhelps help each other along the way. I have found a few times recently that when genuine questions are asked or advice given, that someone will chip in with totally unhelpful and unnecessary remarks

I have enjoyed being part of this community over the years and benefited from much help and advice along the way, but recently there appears to be a change in spirit which dilutes the pleasure.

I think it's great that you're pointing this out. Easy to forget that there's a human on the other end, receiving your message.

Trolls and keyboard warriors should probably ask themselves if it would be ok to say this out loud if met face to face before posting, the social disconnect.

I have a few trolls.
Always trolling me.
Have to let it go over my head, like I explain to my son in law.
They are just wired different.
Like they can’t help themselves, they see the thread and the OCD kicks in and they can’t leave without making a snide remark.
I like seeing it sometimes as it reminds me I’m on the other side of the fence, not nice for the person it’s aimed at, but you have to laugh at them.

Totally agree, when it’s a one off, and I see the person is concentrating on the actual job in hand, ie; driving, I roll my eyes behind my brain and say ugghhhh.

But when it’s two, three, or usually four young people having an animated conservation with hands gesturing in their own type of culture language, which includes people who are emotional illustrators and having deep meaningful conversations and not full attention on the road, and just tailgating the other 4 cars in a row who are all doing the same and no attention or situational awareness of their surroundings, it cheeses me off.
And I show them the Nescafé advert of 4 different flavours of roasted coffee bean.

Also I like to swerve violently in front of them and dive into the 1st lane, thus, giving them a good show of how these roads are meant to be blooming drivin correctly don’t you know. (Sic

I have encountered the same experience, but with other members.
That is why I don't participate that much anymore.
And also because of most of the issues of the T5 have been resolved here, and I don't know much about the newer and other models (ie T7, GC,...).
I visit from time to time, and only if I can really help I will answer. Otherwise I will just shut up and let the others try resolve the problems.

I fully agree with the OP by the way. I’m not sure whether your style of posting is your way of trying to stand out from the crowd, you’re drunk or just an actually unpleasant person. Whatever it is, it’s not welcome and completely unnecessary.
