Plastic sticking out from seal

Was washing the van today and noticed some piece of plastic sticking out from the rubber seal on the left hand side above the A-pillar. Never seen thick before and couldn’t find any fitting when searching. Any ideas what it is and should I be concerned?

If you lift the roof, you'll see it runs the length of that front panel. Not sure of it's function, but ours does that too.

think it is to stop the different metals reacting, the aluminium of the roof and the steel of the body
