Hi Friends. In 2014 this forum guided me in fixing the well documented roof corrosion issue on my 2012 California. Well.. today.. after giving the van a wash i noticed its back! It was fixed by AB Crush Panel Craft in 2015 (12 months plus wait). I am wondering if anyone knows whether the fix came with a warranty. I dont have any record of one but i am not always super organised. Any thoughts appreciated as ever.

Hi there, I have spent the last 3 months trying to find someone who can do this to ours (T5 2005), front panel above the windscreen, and finally found a body shop who said they would do.
Reason others wouldn't, basically said it will never be a 'one time fix'.
Quite a few said it can last 6 months to 6 years, but IT WILL come back, and they can't be doing with the hassle, of going back to them, hence wont touch them.
Guy that's doing mine, who owns & does bodywork repairs to Transporters/Cali's, said he can 'repair' it, and could last up to 3 years, maybe more, but it wont eradicate the problem.
So if yours was done in 2015, that seems like a decent job.
I'm prepared to pay to get it done so it doesn't get past the point of no return.

Hope that helps

Our T5.1 (since sold) was one of the first fixed at AB Crush in Canterbury. I don't remember having any extra warranty.
Here is a letter from my files dated 13th June 2014 which answers your question.20260704_135426.jpg

H and L in Twickenham still carry out repairs to the front panel for VW.

Mine went to somewhere around SW London for elevating roof edge rub down & respray. Might have been there but dealer would never tell me. Whole experience was terrible, they took ~ 6 weeks, very average paint work and a year later the lacquer started peeling off. VW no help at all and I ended up getting it completely respayed by a local bodyshop. (Who only took 4 days).
