Hi everyone, one of the benefits of purchasing a new T7 Cali ocean is the 5 year service plan. I am rolling around to a year of ownership at the start of July and when I phoned to book a service there was some reticence to let me book it until the service light went on.
They booked it in when I explained I was happy to have a service every two years, which would take me out to ten years of ownership.
Does anyone what level of service I should expect at each year?

There are 2 types of Service , a Basic, [ oil and filter, diagnostics, brakes, tyres etc ] and Comprehensive [ Basic service , air filter, Pollen filter, fuel filter etc ]. So at 2 yrs Basic service at 4 yrs Comprehensive.
BUT the service interval also depends on the Oil Quality sensor which can bring the Service interval forward if you average more than 9,000 miles/ year.
On top of that there are certain miles/ time based services not included in the Basic/Comprehensive services nor included in any pre-paid service packages. Such as DSG oil change, AirCon service, Brake fluid change.

Is there somewhere to see the time or distance recommendations for the services not included?

The Volkswagen T6.1 follows either a Fixed (every 1 year/10,000 miles) or Variable/Longlife (up to 2 years/18,000 miles) service regime. For an exact, official PDF of the maintenance schedule tailored to your specific van, you can download one using your vehicle's VIN via the VW Commercial Vehicles Owner Manuals portal or purchase pay-as-you-go access on Erwin, ALTHOUGH I BELIEVE THIS IS NOW RESTRICTED FOR PRIVATE OWNERS.

Key Service Intervals
Owners typically follow these major mileage/time limits:
  • Engine Oil & Filter: Every 1 year or 10,000 miles (Fixed) up to 2 years or 18,000 miles (Variable).
  • Pollen (Cabin) Filter: Every 1–2 years or 20,000–40,000 miles.
  • Air & Fuel Filters: Air filter every 6 years/80,000 miles; fuel filter roughly every 80,000 miles (or sooner depending on fuel quality).
  • Brake Fluid: At 3 years old, then every 2 years thereafter.
  • DSG Gearbox Oil & Filter: Every 3 years or 40,000 miles.
  • Timing Belt (Cambelt): Recommended every 4–5 years or 120,000–130,000 miles.

Fixed vs. Variable Regimes
Community discussions indicate that most owners driving high mileage prefer the Variable regime (which uses dashboard sensors to calculate wear), while those doing short trips or heavy towing stick to Fixed

I finally got round to phoning VW finance and they have confirmed the 5+ cover I got with the van lasts for 10 years, so have cancelled the service I had booked for this week. It may be me but I don’t think this is set out very clearly in anything I have received from VW. I am not doing crazy miles so over 10 years I will only have to pay for five MOTs and everything else is covered for servicing, which is great.

As above, VW along with many other manufacturers recommend Annual services for Low Milage vehicles and the Longlife Service regime for High Milage vehicles. But its upto owners which one they opt for.
Other Service items such as DSG oil change Aircon and Brake fluid are NOT included in the pre-paid Service packages and are Milage or Time limited. Eg: DSG 37,000 ( used to be 40,000 ) miles or 2 yrs.
