Hinge/Bracket Snapped on Top Bed

Our hinge broke this morning. Trouble is, we’re not long into a touring holiday in South of France. Managed to get the bed back down this morning and in place to enable me to lower the roof. However, I’m worried about repeatedly doing this will weaken the other hinge. Any advice out there as to the best way forward?

Vw part number:

Find a Vw dealer local to where you you are.

It would appear no one has come up with a temporary solution yet.
The perm fix looks relatively easy to carry out with a drill and pop rivet gun.

Thanks. I’ve located a VW commercial dealership near us in Grenoble. Not sure what they can do in the time available to us as we are off to another location tomorrow but it’s worth a go. They must be set up for this sort of thing given how many people bring their campers down to this neck of the woods?

Here is another thread which may help if the dealer can't fit you in for repair ( I.e. you can only get the part)

Been back home a few days. Tried to book it in with our local VW commercial dealership. They are quoting £464 to replace both hinges (with metal ones I think). Would be interested to know what others were quoted but I am wondering if they are quoting for the right parts or maybe the whole hinge mechanism. Going to screenshot people’s photos on here and be more specific with them. Will also provide part numbers that you advised.

My dealership did it in under an hour, on warranty, without removing bellows. Pretty common apparently. I think we all do it once.
Can you remember which dealership and how much they charged? My local is asking for £460 to fix both hinges, which seems steep to me.

2 hours labour + parts - problem the ludicrous hourly rate for a easy fix. Get the parts and diy or go local garage

DIY £8 including actual part
