Good evening all. This is my first post on this forum although I’m an avid reader.
I have a California Ocean with sports pack which I bought new in June 2024 and consequently has the 5yr promise warranty etc. It has done 10000 miles and is presently in for its first service. My concern is that I have received communication from the dealer to say that all four tyres are cracked/perished and should be replaced and also the rear suspension cups/bushes are worn and also need replacing. They say neither are warrantable items - really ?? At two years and ten thousand miles I find this unbelievable !
Do you think I’m being unreasonable ??

Tyres are consumable item not covered under any warranty, Get them checked by a third party (or get them yourself) I doubt they are an issue

Bushes , I doubt are serious concerns, if they are they should be covered under factory warranty as they have failed and are a mot failure ? (touché)

Edit; did u buy the van from the dealer ?

Thanks for your opinions. I didn’t buy from the dealer but surely that shouldn’t influence a VW warranty claim.

I would suggest that you contact tyre manufacturer direct for an opinion/tech report on the tyres. Cracked/perished in under 2 years requiring replacement seems unusual. VW customer services may need to be involved
