Could it be the awning? Had the same noise above my head. When you next hear the creek, wind the window down and hold the edge of awning with your hand and see if it silences it. I would also check the front drivers windscreen blind as well. And if all else fails put the roof up and down again and reposition the canvas above the hatch. It's happened in all three of my Oceans after about 20k miles and is always above the drivers head.

On all 3 Californias owned and at the same milage?Sounds like creaking of the guide pins that hold the front cowling on. Been reported previously, along with the fix - a search should bring up a couple of threads on it, @calibusje is your man.
Open the hatch half way , it’ll stop creakingHave it here - but everytime i take it to the dealers it is cold and it doesn't creak. On a warm day or when holidaying abroad it creaks all the time. Drives you mad!

Hi @Simon Mark what was your solution? Our (First!) Ocean has this at 25k km. The garage have found the issue but won't repair it under our (extended) warranty, and are quoting us £988 to repair it. I am planning on making a case to VW Customer Care - along with the leaking bellows issue we discovered only recently, which the garage also won't cover (£1600). It would be great to know what forum members have done, and what cases have been made in case it's a NO from the garage on the warranty. Thank you!Ok, thx, I'll try all of the above and keep you posted.
There is a company in Cornwall who have replaced s lot of bellows for far less than the dealer charges. - Kernow transportersHi @Simon Mark what was your solution? Our (First!)
