Problem with sliding door on T

We have a VWCali T5. When the side door is shut (manual shutting) and we start driving, I get an audible warning and a message on the dashboard that the side door is not shut properly. It sets the light on on the central console and the two issues (noise and light) are quite irritating particularly when driving at night. The only solution I have found is to lock the doors from the drivers door and to place the central switch on off.
I cannot find the location of the sensor on the sliding door and all the cleaning of the shutting mecanism has made no difference. Any ideas? Many thanks

Make sure the electrical connectors on the rear of the B pillar and leading edge of the door are clean. Pan scrubber and some electrical contact cleaner or Methylated spirit.
