T6.1 Ocean 2024 - Tailgate Internal Plastic Trim Repair

Hi - with our tailgate up, the grey plastic trim surrounding the camping removable chair storage area was hit by a reversing van. The other van owner is a reliable and good friend who will help pay for the outcome. We were lucky in that he immediately stopped and has just cracked the trim with no secondary damage. I can't find a replacement part at moment (any leads?) but also I'm looking at option of repairing the crack by hot staple stitching then filling. Has anyone done something similar or has anyone used a specialist repairer in the Bournemouth/Poole or surrounding area? Thank you for your help in advance

Thanks Tom D for replying and the info - its a piece of trim and I'd rather sort it out privately rather than complicate things with insurance and its repairable - but before I do anything I wondered if there was expertise out there that could guide me to the best approach and any specific products out there.
