I bought a 2022 Coast back in August which has two side sliding windows in the passenger / load compartment one each side. I was wondering if two windows are standard fitment or was one an option?

When the Coast first came about, it was supposed to be an option. We bought a new Coast in 2021 and it was a surprise extra we didn't order. I believe many also had the same experience with the Coast.

We only have one (on near-side) on our 2021 Coast so it would seems that the off-side was optional, and that our van didn't receive a surprise extra!

Thanks everyone for your replies. I suspect my van was probably one of the ones that had a surprise extra fitted but guess I'll never know. One of life's mysteries!

My 2020 only has the sliding window on the near side. I was surprised but the more I learn about VW sliding windows and leaks the happier I am!! So far mines been fine, but I know loads of people with T6s and earlier with unsolved leaking issues!

I paid for

Sliding window with fly screen in passenger compartment left - £120

on my 2022 Coast

My 22 Coast is one with the surprise extra window. I know as we only got one flyscreen with it!

And yes, my T6 kombi had the leaking window, it's very common.

It leaks because of the drains or something, not the actual window.

It's the drains in the window frame (someone will come along and correct me) not leaky glass.

Google tells me with this site as the reference....

VW Transporter (T5/T6/T6.1) sliding windows leak primarily due to a flawed drainage system that fails to handle high water volume, resulting in water overflowing into the van, often due to blocked drain holes or poor bonding between the window cassette and glass. Other causes include dirty or degraded rubber seals and failure to clean debris from the sliding tracks
