After years of hankering for one and having owned a T5 conversion but sold some years back I’ve taken the plunge into purchasing a new to me T7 Ocean.

I did order a 6.1 in 2021 but due to Covid etc the wait time became ridiculous so pulled the plug.

Few compromises on space it seems but I do like the set up, fingers crossed the battery issues have been resolved.

Picking it up tomorrow and I cannot wait.

Brilliant purchase. You’ll love it. We have the T7 Beach and every time I get behind the wheel in ‘Missy’ I just have the biggest grin

Welcome. I like the colour

Like you, we owned a conversion previously and have just moved to a T7 ocean - just spent first night away ahead of European travels coming up. Yes some compromise / changes on storage but tbh, we get similar to our conversion. Very happy with our purchase and are currently sat having a morning brew choosing a couple of things to buy (rear carpets, phone charging cable to leave here etc.. ) Spacemate has been the best purchase to date .

Indium Grey ?
My Cali Beach is due in 1 month.
Congrats :thumb

My 5.1 was stolen, had had it since new 13years ago, and it was a real downer. VW insurance though paid a fair price and quickly and now have a nice low mileage T7 coast.
Couple of weeks in and a few choice upgrades, solar for one, and I’m back on track.

Sorry to hear re the theft but glad you are back on your feet now with your T7

Re solar, I have been considering this - any concerns re adding height? A major part of my thinking was to stay below 2m and get in car parks / European underground parking that previously eluded us with our T6 conversion.

Hi and welcome. Had our new T7 2026 model for 5 months now. Really pleased with it. You’ll love it! The electrics seem fine… has sat on the drive for 6 weeks whilst we were away and everything worked and charged fine (no ehu). We have the Hybrid and it even charged the leisure batteries from the Hybrid battery when were off hookup for a few days and I deliberately kept some charge in the Hybrid battery to try it.

You can get thin flexible, self fix solar panel that doesnt sit above the roof rail - so preserves the max height - and a no drill access to the electrics from the tailgate … but expensive. Have done that…

Have fun!

No concern about height, the panels sit lower than the awning with just the small controllers sitting ever so slightly proud of this level. I went for a, probably to much, 300w system split to charge the house batteries and the system battery. I do worry about the system battery depleting if either left for a period or if on campsite and do often camp at festivals and small sites where hook up is not available so hopping the smaller house batteries get replenished quick enough to not worry about.

Thanks, well there is a gremlin and I spotted it before driving off. There’s an error with the child lock. They attempted to try and look at what was the issue, maybe a wiring issue. I took it home for a day then it went back into be looked at Friday.

They brought it back today (Monday) as they said the issue can’t be resolved right away, I did inform them i wanted the van back for a couple of nights away this Wednesday and they said that’s fine and could work on it next week.

However today on getting it back the central locking is working on the front doors and tailgate but the sliding doors on both sides aren’t locking and obviously can be opened even while the van is locked…..

It’s back with the dealer now, i really don’t want to reject this van as I really like it, but I have to admit its put a bit of a downer on things, especially as this is something I’ve wanted for years. It’s only 8 months old too. I do know how lucky I am to even be writing this post as I’m in the position to own one but it’s certainly taken a bit of the shine off.

I’ll see what the next few days bring. Hoping it will be fairly easy to sort out.

Bought a spacemate too. Looks a great piece of kit

Oh no, sounds like something they should be able to fix, fingers crossed.

Yes, it’s a lovely colour and I do like the wheels. I initially was looking at the Beach. The multivan they’ve given me to run around in while I wait for it to be sorted is a nice drive.
If you like the Cali, stick with it.
A new one is 4 month wait.
They’ll sort it. Hopefully !
