Show me your T5 wheels

Mine is the 180
No it's not. It's a T5 wearing the wheels from a T5.1.
And what is wrong with that?
Mine is a 140hp, and I am glad I have that engine. It has served me well for 16 years already without any problems. The only "engine" problems I had were the EGR at 3 years, and a temperature sensor in the DPF a bit later. So that is even not an engine problem.
What's up with you today? I never said there was anything wrong with that . I was making a positive statement about the 140 Vs the risky 180

My bad then.
It seemed as you were stating that the van was "only" a 140hp, and not one with 180hp. I didn't see it as a positive statement at first.

What’s a 5.1?
It’s a T5 from 2008 wearing the factory wheels it came with. I’ve owned it for 18 years. I should know.

Yeah, love the 2.5.
I had a 2004 Autosleeper Trooper with the 130 manual, great to drive. Swapped it for a 6.1 with the 110hp, that was ok. Never really felt under powered even fully loaded.
But this 174 Tiptronic is fantastic, only done 23500 miles so barely run in.
But the £800 road not so great!
If you re register it as PLG as I did decades ago it’s just £265 or thereabouts.

The facelift (like mine in the picture). Mine is made in november 2009 and has VIN follow up number 211xxx, where the facelift started at 200000.
So you have one of the later T5's, and I have one of the first T5.1's. In fact, my model is a 1 year misfire (??) with the T5 rear bumper with the big, ugly parking sensors and an RCD310 with blue backlight instead of the neutral backlight, matching the facelift instrument cluster.

Finding decent age appropriate wheels in good condition will be tricky without a refurb. Have a look at EBay or Facebook Marketplace - lots at reasonable prices… so many different options and if you visit a VW show virtually everyone is different! Imho I do like a nod to OEM + style, but I’ve seen some great Swamper style or large rims. Choose whatever you like the look of and enjoy your camper.
Our 2012 came with 16’ Caravelle wheels, we then bought Davenports, then Cavascals, now potentially T6 Sportlines… there was a stage of people buying new vans and ditching new 17” wheels for larger and you could pick up a set cheaper than buying decent tyres. Not so much now with T7… have fun!
