What have you done with your California today?

Just fitted a Victron MPPT, and connected up to the rear leisure battery. Used a 3d printed bracket to hold the mppt and an isolator, tried my 200w renogy portable solar panels, getting a charge even though the sun was hiding

Today? With great difficulty I scraped off the English Heritage membership sticker from the front windscreen.
Obviously they used Space Shuttle Tile adhesive. Made a transparent pocket to hold this years sticker. Not going through that again!
I find a hair blow drier usually does the trick. I also used one to transfer my Swiss one year toll tag to my new vehicle.

i have just finished retrofitting PDC and making it work

2 days and 2 people to install the sensors in the bumpers front and back and the wiring harness to inside the cabin.

6 hours and a lot of worry sweat to connect the wiring to the car harness inside the cabin. Splicing, soldering and fiddling with cables that really shouldn’t be disturbed.

4 days and many forum threads to sort out the coding.

The overall instructions were poor, but it seems i speak VCDS and forums are my friend.

It is now fully working

Collected from the dealer, been in for a new control module. A couple of weeks ago it threw up loads of errors and the central screen went black. £3k but thankfully covered as VW goodwill, suspect it didn't like a software update. Part had to come from Germany so a bit of a wait, bit of a challenge to get signed in and back as the primary user, but all sorted now and ready to roll!

When the dealer (stealer) tells you its £360 for rear brakes :stop and you get a set for £28 and fitted for £50 (even better that it was at a VW car garage)... now that's the way to do it! :happy Plan to stop spending money and fixing problems and hopeful enjoy the summer! :cheers

From EBay. They do sell them individually but you get 25% discount when you buy 3 or more. I forgot to ask if you can actually open the fridge when they were fitted. DOH…..

Thanks. And just to check that 2 boxes in place don’t foul the fridge or wardrobe door? Also, it’s simple to slip the boxes on / off?

Wardrobe door no fouling and you can open the fridge with 2 fitted but admittedly you can’t open the fridge door totally even with one fitted but you should be able to access everything in the fridge no problem. They are very easy to slip on and off. I’ll take some pics tomorrow morning before work to show how far the fridge door will open. Might not work for everyone but we know how important every bit of storage is in these vehicles

More photos as promised. The top box doesn’t foul the fridge door at all . The fridge door doesn’t open a full 90 degrees anyway. The 2nd box may foul the fridge door slightly but nothing to worry about and the bottom one stops it opening almost completely. The wardrobe door opens more than 90 degrees when the boxes are fitted but could open a bit more but it won’t stop you getting anything in or out with them fitted.

Nothing at all. Waiting for a call from my garage about when they can fix my blown head gasket or do an engine swap, since mine is 412.000 km and 20 years old. So retiring the engine might be a smart decision.

Any option for fixing this is after my planned trip. So no holiday this spring. So, what did I do today? Park it at the workshop and wait for whatever will be next.

Do you have the eBay link please.

I’ve been trying for ages to stop the sliding panel from rattling. Anyone got any ideas?

Washed and cleaned out the 4 roof drains and the front scuttle panel.... well my brother did it for me as I've done my back in. The front drains were blocked solid so removed the windscreen wipers and scuttle cover panel, removed handfuls of compost like crud and cleaned the valves at the bottom of the roof drains, a squirt of silicone spray up the drain tubes cleared them and then flushed through with water using a syringe and pipe.
