Looking for opinions /views on my situation with our local VW dealership.
Thursday last week van ( Ocean 150, 2019 from new) went in for Service /MOT. As I waited the r feedback was “it’ll fail on a broken rear spring”, plus Health check video identified Rear Disc and Pads and Corroded brake pipe as ‘Advisories’.
I said that I wanted ‘both’ rear springs replaced ( they said not essential but I thought info suggested advisable ) so they’d do that. Plus I said do the ‘Advisory work too , ie brakes.
They had to keep the van until the following Tuesday due to parts etc, all fair enough.
However when I get home I check the paper MOT certificate which still has on it as ‘Advisory’ “Corroded brake pipe and swollen end’.
They had done all the Disc /pads on the rear and left this !
After a rather heated phone call it’s booked in for the 14th April to have this done.
Am I being unfair in criticising and expecting a better standard than this from a VW garage?
Should they be doing this free of charge ? (I just paid them plenty )
Was this dangerous to be left like this, given it was assessed on the same level of ‘Advisory’ as the Discs and pads in the initial Health check Video that I recieved .
I know this is a bit convoluted, but it’s allowed me to ‘rant’ too ….
