Long time lurker whilst very happily owning a T6 DSG conversion for the last 7 years. This forum has been amazing for hints / tips hence decided to commit to full membership now we’ve committed to ‘upgrade’ to a T7/ multivan PHEV cali ocean in starlight blue (appreciate there really isn’t a T7).
Acknowledge the ‘upgrade’ may not been seen that way by all and each to their own ! We originally weren’t sold by any stretch (but fancied the idea of the PHEV - also owned a Tesla for the last 6 years) and thought we’d pop into Birmingham and take a quick look, assuming we’d be underwhelmed. 3 hours later after we’d dismantled it and comparing all of our current setup and (importantly) storage, our view changed.
I’d obviously seen all of the storage concerns and battery issues discussed at length here and confirm we are going in with our eyes open (thanks to you guys). I’m sure issues will ultimately get sorted and I’m hoping getting a 2026 build might help but maybe that is naive.. we’ll see!
After visiting Europe each year since 2020, we’ve planned another trip via Bruges and then down to Como before swinging back up to Paris for a few days this year. We are going late June so has anybody got a view on realistic delivery timescales for a new cali ? We ordered in mid November and literally heard nothing since bar a response to a chaser saying they will update me when they know more? I can’t think of anywhere else that I would commit to spend this kind of money and they would go dark on me!
Regardless, very excited. We’ve got lots of gear already (too much really but always happy to buy something new - already got a new pile forming ). Current van has gone back to original converter to sell with touted excellent returns! It was a great servant but the attraction of something lower than 2m, air con into the rear, 2 sliding doors, better finish, quieter when driving etc.. was the appeal. We intend to use this as one of our two daily drivers.
Appreciate any other multivan wisdom. Will share photos when it arrives.
