We are planning to travel mid March to the Netherlands, then on to, Germany Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy and then back through France. We are seeking guidance on any special entry or campervan driving restrictions in any of these countries.
We are aware of the new EES system but wonder if there are any other country specific requirements.
We will not be booking a return ferry ticket until later in our trip, is there any issue with that?
Finally, what is the status with wild camping in each of the countries mentioned?
Thank you members .

Can't help with the EES question, I have a UK and a German passport so haven't bothering keeping up to date with that.

Wild camping (assuming you mean in your van not a tent) is officially prohibited in all the countries you mention, but if you are discrete you'll probably get away with it. The Scandinavian countries are pretty much the only ones that allow wild camping.

We've visited most of those countries.
Check for emergency equipment to be carried with RAC or AA websites, first aid, fire extinguisher, etc.
Also look up vignette (Austria and Slovenia but could be others) and toll information for each country and research automated payment systems for tolls to speed up your journeys.
Check currency requirements, most are Euros but I know Hungary for one isn't.
Check local bank holidays. Shops generally close on Sundays so make sure you have enough food.
We don't wild camp so can't help you with that but I understand the Aires in France have good facilities for campervans.
I would imagine return ferry is OK but beware of Easter hols and maybe book a couple of days before you return.
Have a great journey and look forward to seeing your photos.

In 2024 we toured for twelve weeks mostly in France. No itinerary as such just south to Brittany for the ferry. We used Camping Car Park - although generally no facilities like toilets or showers. But fresh water and EHU included. Every third of forth night we used small campsites
