Oops - forgot Crit’air

Reviving this thread, we are travelling from Calais to Beziers.

We don't intend to visit any of the major cities I found listed:
  • Aix-Marseille-Provence region
  • Bordeaux
  • Clermont-Ferrand
  • Grenoble
  • Lille
  • Lyon
  • Nice
  • Marseille
  • Montpellier
  • Paris
  • Reims
  • Rouen
  • Strasbourg
  • Saint-Etienne
  • Toulouse
We may have to route around the Périphérique - I think it's only weekdays one is needed? We may or may not go to Bordeaux as well.

Any advice welcome. I won't have time to receive a sticker, but reading earlier threads, the confirmation letter should be enough. Anyone know if this is digital? We away on Sunday!

I applied online on my phone as we were driving into Rouen (hadn't really planned to go in, but thought we would as we were passing). Took 5 mins, had the email confirmation back as we passed the crit air signs. Letter with sticker arrived at home about 2 weeks later, just after we got back.

But the email confirmation is all you need. In fact I didn't have my V5C with me so made up some of the info like emissions, still got accepted!

Another simple solution is to use false plates whilst in France. Since the DVLA won't share any info with them, they can't do anything. At your own risk of course!
And If you’re pulled over for an infringement or check, asked to provide proof of ownership, what happens then?!

The French authorities would have a great time interviewing the driver of speeding car with false plates.
