Don't forget to wave at California vans, it may be me in Alicante. Weather is still warm and not too hot and the rain earlier this month looks like it has passed so you should have a good time. Plaza Mar 2 in Alicante is good for shopping, great supermarket and is next to the tram line into Alicante. Parking though is only possible on the top floor car park for a California due to height but I have also managed to park on the road near by.View attachment 141638
Ordesa, Spanish Pyrenees. Just my older son, Benjamin, Meg (pictured) and me.
Ben has two weeks 1/2 term so we are spending a week in the Pyrenees before meeting Jack and Clare for a second week in Alicante.

Alicante airport multistory carpark is no problem for a California. The bridge between the car park and the airport is on the 4th floor. I usually park on the 5th the top floor. Paying machine are easy to spot. The barriers read number plates. We are staying at a holiday park, La Marina, about 30 minutes south of Alicante. Apart from picking up Clare and Jack from the airport and going to the beach, I don’t suppose we will stray far from the holiday park.

That is also amazing! Life in the road can be very rewarding. Did you use P4N for all your stops or just ad hoc; by that I mean did you use it to find, spur of the moment, sites?Yes, it was. Wild flamingoes were our only company (in late September). Park for night is great for this sort of thing.
Today we were in Verdon Gorge - picnic spot only, not overnight. The van is just in shot:

P4N is used in nearly every decision, but sometimes alternatives appear. It’s always comforting to know that other people have gone before you and not had problems. It is worth saying that we think that P4N is superior to searchforsites due to the higher number of user reviews. We also use ACSI.That is also amazing! Life in the road can be very rewarding. Spanish Pyrenees.
Amazing drive now two thirds from Torla to Saldes choosing the shortest route.
Not as many great and famous and high cols as the French side, but far more remote and much less traffic.

I noticed that you have external windscreen covers which look great on your van. We are currently researching them. I have some questions so apologies for them:View attachment 141638

Now back from our two month trip to Europe, first big trip in my 6., Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and France. Found some gems on route as usual in our 3,000 mile journey.

We stayed in Groningen for over a week, at the Camping Stadspark. Beautiful city with lots to do locally, botanical gardens and museum well worth a visit. We did not not move the van at all once we arrived, local cycles, walks and wild swimming. You can cycle of walk into the city from the campsite which is very nicely located in woodland, excellent facilities.Where did you go in the Netherlands?
As an aside I highly recommend camping de lakens - staying in the dunes on a national park is amazingWhere did you go in the Netherlands?
Thanks, I had a look on line and saved it on Maps.As an aside I highly recommend camping de lakens - staying in the dunes on a national park is amazing
And, is it my imagination or are there fewer and fewer stations offering a bucket and squeegee these days? I know that we don’t have as many bugs to hit windscreens in the UK, but even the hot countries seem less willing to help the driver in this way.View attachment 141832
If you look really carefully you will see the dead insects that had hit my windscreen I had to stop far too often to clean it. It was if it was raining bugs . Camera preferred to focus at the distance than the screen..
