Mooing engine..... which pipes to change? 2012 bi-turbo

Hello all,

I've read so much info on this issue on here but cant find exactly what vac pipes to change. The main dealer didn't have a clue what I was talking about.

Both N75 valves have been replaced but instead of a loud random moo it is now a constant moo when lightly pressing the throttle. Also I'm not sure what brand / quality the N75 valves are as didn't replace them. (I need to check this)

Can some one be kind enough to give me a part number shopping list of the best quality bits that will finally put this noise to bed before I go crazy please.

Several threads on the subject. The pipe design was altered if I remember correctly.

I believe the N75 vacuum pipes were upgraded sometime around 2012/14 or so. I also understand that the pipes more often than the valves were responsible for the moo noise.
 
I think perhaps you’re over complicating it?

Firstly you need the diagram/map of the piping layout. This is usually on a sticker on the bonnet slam panel? If not a dig around on Google should find it.

After you know exactly what goes where just pull off one of the pipes off and measure the size, ID is the critical dimension. Go shopping.

If it’s anything like the T4 or Golf’s then there may well be two different size pipes in the system. Easy enough to check.

Brand for the N75 is Pierburg.

Thanks for the info. The pierburg number I can find that comes up for this part is 7.00868.02.0 Is this correct?

Also what pipes on the diagram do I need to replace?
Sorry for all the questions I just don't want to spend a fortune on a load of parts I don't need to change. These vans should with a bankruptcy warning

Can I suggest, given the N75 is new, start by replacing the pipes.

As stated previously, pull one of them off, measure the internal diameter (it’ll be 3.5mm probs).

Buy a length of tube, say 3m.

I have no idea which pipe is causing your problem so pick one. Remove it. Check for leaks. (Stick one end in your mouth, finger over the over end and puff y’cheeks out. If it’s good then replace it.
If it’s leaking then cut a length of your new pipe to match the old and replace it.

Repeat with the next pipe until you fix it.
 
Breeze at Portsmouth replaced mine a few years ago and the parts were listed on the invoice as:
V7E0129458N Hose
V7E0129458M Hose
V1K0906283A Valve

Thanks for that. Not a cheap fix this. Hoping these parts will do the trick as there are already two brand new genuine VW N75 valves fitted.
 
Just the two hoses sorted it for me many years ago. I think one of them has a "pulsation damper" built into it, which is what stops the mooing.

I put a new bi turbo on, or van centre did at a small fortune. The mooing stopped, changed moo valve and all pipes to the turbo before doing turbo. Hope you get sorted.
Mine is a 180 DSG 2012 (62)

Buy your parts from LLL....typically cheaper for most items, including smaller value items.
