Ladder on back?

Maybe I am going to answer my own question but, what are the ladders on the back for? To hold a spare tyre? Attach a bike rack? I always think they look cool but I’m never sure what they’re for. Thanks.

Of course, solar panels. My GC doesn’t have those. Would be useful, given the standard battery, but I don’t need to start another thread on that.

Not on a GC, which is what I have, because it is not weight bearing as far as I am aware. I recognise this is different for californias/transporters.

Yeah sorry, I didn't pay enough attention and didn;t see that you own a Grand California. My mistake.
