Not a California but ....

My new van

Our close friend has recently had a Pro Ace converted by Orange Campers.
Cannot fault their attention to detail, customer service and quality of conversions.
Great choice, enjoy

It looks good. In fact, very good.
Is the van in the video your actual van?
Finally, what drove you to the dark side? Size, Quality, price, or maybe just why not?
It certainly looks a good one person van. I'm guessing that was the reason.
The bed setting up looks much better than the Cali.
Hope to hear more posting from you.
Enjoy!

It is my van. Was delivered today and now I'm fiddling with it :D

I wanted a small van, I'm no longer going to be living in it for weeks on end, it's just Marley and me (Marley is my beagle), and I was looking at a caddy but the VW conversion does not have a pop top. Also price, my Ducato served me well for four years so could not see the point in paying a VW premium which all the VW conversions seem to carry.

Getting automatic second hand vans is like shopping for hens teeth. It's not going to get the use to justify a new one, but this 2 y/old with 18000 miles on the clock came up so I grabbed it.

The bed is very much easier to set up, I never did like dragging that back seat backwards and forwards on those rails. Also it is quite flexible as all three elements are infinitely adjustable.

It's simple, how I wanted it. I have not used gas in any van I've had for 4 years now so I have a nice little cupboard in the boot to use for things like muddy boots etc, where once sat a gas bottle. An unbroken worktop was also an individual spec of mine. The solar panel/ lithium battery combo should keep me going off grid for days so I've also had fitted a 12v car socket/three pin mains plug by the n/s rear seat so I can have my 1kw power station permanently connected, saves me having a big inverter fitted. I rarely slept upstairs in my Cali's so it was nice to be able to say "leave the bed, save the weight and get a few extra inched of headroom with roof down".

The Webasto is also simple, and reachable from the bed so I am not going to miss the remote.

It should also have a curtain that screens the back from the front seats but that's been left off which means a visit back to Richard to get fitted.

It is a very nice van to drive, surprised me what an uncluttered, comfortable and quiet cockpit I now have after driving a rather agricultural Ducato around for the last 4 years.

They are great people to deal with. Very honest and straightforward. Richard was brilliant when I was discussing the spec and if he felt I was asking for something daft or difficult he would say so.
