Just a quick question I think, although you can never be sure of what might spark off on here:

Does anyone know why autoglym recommend to clean the wheels with their spray on wheel cleaner, working from the bottom of the wheel upwards? (See point 2 of the picture).

Too much of the expensive cleaner stuff finds its way onto the ground before I’ve had time to spread it about. I like to do it the other way around so that the cleaner runs down the wheel a bit before it hits the ground giving me time to swish it about. I’m sure that there’s a straightforward explanation.

By the way, yes, I really don’t have anything more important to think about right now! :D

No idea. I always take the wheels off to clean them. Order of magnitude easier/more effective.

So you use more?
I thought that too. If I use more, I’ll have to buy another bottle more quickly. But to ensure an earlier repeat sale, they’d have to think that I’m happy for the dribbly cleaner to do as good a job on my block-paving as on my wheels. (As it happens, I am, but they don’t know that).

Why don’t you try both techniques, bottom up and top down on two wheels, and check the difference - all in the name of research !

Exactly, treat the wheels like you treat your wife, with care and attention.

Sometimes you start at the top, sometimes at the bottom. Whatever feels right in the (heat of the) moment

In most heavy-duty cleaning jobs (such as washing walls), it is recommended to work from the bottom up. Why? Simply to prevent drips from leaving marks. It is probably the same reason here.

Got to be honest, that makes no sense to me. Surely you work from the top down to prevent drips leaving marks??.? Guess I’ll never be any good at cleaning……
