Hello Everyone
We are now the proud owners of a 2022 Ocean (question : how do we add this detail to our profile?), having hired one for two glorious weeks in the Outer Hebrides in May. During that holiday, we experienced the issue of the battery not charging if the circuit breaker was off. However, having looked through the owner's manual, we have read that the breaker should be turned to Off before plugging in the hookup, then switched back to On. Ditto on removing the hookup. We didn't do that in the Hebrides and seemed to suffer no adverse consequences. Is it really necessary and what is the downside if you don't do that?
Warning - this may be the first of many stupid questions!
Thanks Everyone.

Makes zero difference. Carry on as you are. It is true, the battery won’t charge with the breaker off.

Didn’t turn mine Off in the 10 yrs I had my California.

If the plug is wet you may trip the RCD component, that is the same as pressing the Test Button which you should do periodically anyway. I don't bother with isolating before plugging in or disconnecting. Same for a Caravan and we've had them for over 30 years.

Thanks, Everyone. We suspected that, if we were meant to do it every time, they would have made it more accessible.
Plus we now realise, having posted our first query, that our make and model appear automatically under our logo, so two problems solved in one post!
