I copied this one but ended up not using it.

Like a lot “early must haves” we found we were lugging lots of non essentials around, taking up space. We now find one of the taller fold up steps between the seats and a foot up on the seat back is no real hassle (even for my short partner). The Folding step doubles up as a small table, although I did modify it to strengthen the top.

I know it's an old thread but thanks to op for this. Just built one. Takes my weight but not confidently, mostly for the kids anyway
 
Very likely off-topic, but how do you ever get the driver’s seat into the position shown in the first photos? Where did your steering wheel go? Ours really gets in the way when we try to swivel the driver’s seat...

It's a right-hand drive vehicle. You most likely have a left-hand drive in the Netherlands, and that makes it much more complicated.
