Hello. We are struggling to work out why our water tap isn’t working! We are trying to clean the micro switch on the tap - as many threads on the Forum have advised - but we are stuck. We got this far (see photo) but can’t work out what to do next. Any help appreciated

That's it. Now just clean those contacts with some fine emery paper. Also make sure it makes a nice click when operated. You can also short out those contacts to prove your pump is working OK. If you have the shower connection try that. If that works then it's definitely your tap

Hello… Right! To short out.. we use a paper clip or similar to link the contact points?

Alas, no joy.. but thx for your help. The micro switch seems clean and connecting but no joy..
Must be the pump ☹️

Bit late for you but I gave up with the microswitch, it's clearly always going to be problematic. I installed a non latching push button on the side of the cabinet, cost £3 and is dramatically better than the flimsy tap option.

Could you send me info on how you went about that and what I would need to do the job...Thanks a lot

The servicing of the tap microswitch in the California has to be done with care, But It's an EASY option.

Firstly you MUST remove the fuse under the passenger seat.1782802352601.png

Secondly, before removing the handle you MUST have the tap in its fully open position (after fuse is removed). Take it from me this will stop you bending over the contacts when you reinstall the handle and possibly destroying the microswitch.

You can then use a SMALL piece of emety cloth or sandpaper to remove oxidation from the contacts WITH CARE.

It is possible to unseat the switch if needed for better access, I do this when needed, but it can be a pain to push back in, be patient.

If the bridging spring falls off its easy to put back on.

It's also VERY EASY to replace the micro switch for around £10.

I personally dont like modifying switches etc when small projects like this are easy. But thats just my preference.

As to my previous post Can I personally thank the ORIGINAL poster who put the fuse layout picture on this forum. Its always been and continues to be a great help.
Many Thanks.
