Water tank cap key won’t turn

We picked up our 2023 California oceon 2 weeks ago,drained the water tank for the winter,the cap was unlocked.When I tried to lock it the key won’t turn,I’ve oiled it but still no luck,it’s under guarantee but to save me taking it back any ideas

You are putting the cap on with handle vertical. Push in and turn the cap so handle is horizontal and then turn key.
