So one of the arms seized up on me whilst away. All very annoying given I thought I’d thoroughly lubed them a while ago. It seems just spraying the threads and leaving them hanging vertically it’s not good enough. The rain etc just runs down and collects inside.
Luckily I was able to make the shorter one work with some jiggery etc.
Just in case anyone takes one apart, here’s the assembly sequence.
The two small Philips head screw are a bit fiddly to remove and the circlip is a bit of a fight to get back on.
Worth doing though as it was full of mucky oily water etc.
Packed with waterproof grease, it should be ok.
Two more to do before they seize.
