Hi,

I’ve tried the search function but with no results.

Anyone have an idea what this plug/connection do?

Edit :
could be a 12v magnetic connector

It looks like the standard 12v socket (cigarette style) has been replaced with the mag lock

Is it in the boot right hand side? If so should a 12v socket with a flip up cover.
It is in the boot roght hand side yes. No flip cover.

Looks like a 12v something. It has grooves for locking.

I’ve just bought it, but no fob or similar connections came with it unfortunately

I presume the previous owner had a fridge etc and replaced the standard 12v socket with the mag lock , you can either change it back to standard or Buy connector to use with the mag lock - see my previous post & link

Hi. Mine has the same socket.
Does anyone know the best way to change this to a regular 12v socket?
How is this thing attached to the panel?

The Mag socket is in 2 parts that screws together clamping the panel in the middle. So to remove you would need ta access the rear of the panel and unscrew the collar. I cant find an image online of it disassembled but this shows the rear:

The section with the grooves / indents unscrews from the middle of the unit. You can then remove the spade terminals (dont let the +ve and -ve touch if they are uninsulated).

An alternative solution could be to get a magnetic connector to 12v socket adaptor:

Or wire the device you want to 'plug' in direct to a Mag plug
