Is there anyone on here that has upgraded from a T6 ocean to a T6.1 ocean and was it worth it?

Many small and medium improvements really worth the upgrade. VW claimed they changed 2000 things from T6 to 6.1..
Owned T6 ocean from 2016 till 2022, T6.1 ocean since 2022 no regret.

Ok bit the bullet and got one with 1400 miles on the clock stupid money

Not a fan of the bed topper or the seat fabric

Don’t judge a book by its cover.
The roof bed topper + dished springs is much more comfortable than T6 bed.

Nearly new 6.1 , I'm guessing Hi Stupid, whilst we are still learning to love the 7.
Thought so. There was someone on here a few weeks ago had paid £55k for a ‘23 Beach!!!!! Dealer must me still rolling around on the floor?

Update or Upgrade?
According to the definition the T6.1 is an Update of the T6 .
The T7 is an Upgrade.

I am sticking with my 2020 T6.
If I retire in 2-3 years time I’d like something larger 5.4 m - pop up roof category. But will diesel be £5 per litre then ?

Ok got new 6.1 and have a few questions
1. Should there be a warning triangle and hivis ?
2. Does t6 mattress fit t6.1 downstairs as wife thinks the mattress in the t6.1 is not as nice as the t6 and thinking of swapping before the t6 goes

1) Not in the UK as not mandatory, unlike Europe, I believe.
2) Try it?

1, Yep, warning triangle from factory in drivers door. No hi viz. Can pick up a replacement triangle for £10 or so easily on eBay.
2. Not perfectly, think it’s about 10cm longer. But probably good enough for government work. Or go aftermarket for a much better nights sleep.
Edit - the T6.1 bed base is flat, the T6 is stepped IIRC so original comfort mattress won’t fit.

so old mattress fits but is probably about 2 inches too long
you have to remove the cushion off the top of the rear parcel shelf which is now spring assisted to raise and no longer made of wire but a solid piece.
the new parcel shelf has a strap to help lift it so the cushion on top has a cutout for the strap
anyway the wife decided to keep the mattress but in less than 24 hours is now changing her mind
the rear seat/bench seems to sit approx. 2 inches further back one assumes to allow better access to the wardrobe now that the sliding doors have been replaced
so i can see a trip back to the dealer to get a safety triangle/firstaid kit and swap the mattress

the other thing is that the cutlery drawer insert is not as good in the t6.1 so we swapped it with the t6

upstairs bed it better, tiny bit bigger and the wooded slats replaced with plastic springs that are a lot more comfortable

no lid on the glove box is a negative so might buy one

but in less than 24 hours we have our first fault !! something about traffic sign recognition, i did find a connector under the bonnet just sitting there all on its own, so did a google lens and it looks like its the connector to the heated screen, and as the screen works i am wondering if the screen has been replaced and the camera not calibrated and hence to error message about sign recognition
has anyone else had this error?

I take it there isn’t an obvious mating connection close by?

nope the actual connector was lying just behind the nearside headlamp
the van is 18 months old and has done 1400 miles but looks like its never been used, but does have a gas bottle, i dont recall my t6 coming with a gas bottle

Starting to find the issues with the new t6.1 now, first one is that the space in the roof is a lots less due to the new springs under the mattress, which means that you cant store the window screen cover up there

You should go back to the seller - was that a dealer ?
