Is this specifically for travelling abroad?

My LV policy covers 3rd party insurance for any damage caused by a trailer or caravan being towed by my Cali, but not for the trailer itself.

They said all covered areas this applied. 3rd party would mean if you jack nifed the trailer you'd have to repair the van. They also said that they'd expect specific trailer insurance would be taken out.
Must admit that I'd towed big trailers in complete ignorance previously.
Caravans insured but not trailers.
