TPMS valves fitted, no recognition on Discover pro

2023 Cali Beach 204 4Motion Lhd

I have two sets of Springfields, summer and winter. Both sets fitted with the wheel sensor, identified by looking at the valve type. On the Vehicle / Driver Assist section of Discover Pro there is no mention or display showing individual wheel pressures. Just the picture of the van and the "Set" button.

Am I missing something here as I'm going to buy new wheels and if the "Direct" system wasn't fitted, it would be cheaper and easier. The Non-direct ABS system would be easy to set up.

With Direct wheel fitted sensors, does this show tyre pressures automagically or is there something I need to activate? Also, why have these in 2 sets of wheels if there is nothing to "read" them fitted to the van?

Another spec anomaly is the build shows an 80litre tank fitted but I thought this wasn't possible with the ad-blu system? I have filled over 70 litres previously....

I’ll bet it’s just a coding thing needs ticking in VCDS.

In a way, I’d rather it stayed as it is to be honest… I’d still get a warning via the abs, still check all four pressures and still cancel the issue. Less faff, cost and a rim swap would be simpler.

Have you owned this vehicle from new?

You can check the building codes for the vehicle to see if it was ever fitted?
Build label with codes in vehicle registration documentation or label on bottom of Dashboard or Drivers seat.
If not fitted then the vehicle won’t have the wireless receiver for the TPMS fitted.

No second owner after a vw dealer. Purchased with summer wheels and a second set of winters, both springfields. Both with sensors fitted.

Good tip for the build codes. I’ll check but nothing coming up via the online specification.

Checked the coding in address 17-Instruments, TPMS is here, bit 7.
You could try adding it in, see if it works?

It might be easier to look under the van and see if you have the receiver unit. It’s a black box mounted roughly in line with the back wheels under the van.

Indeed. I did wonder if there would be an additional module somewhere.
