We are now in the position that our lovely cali no longer has a warranty as it is 7 years old. The local dealer sold us a extended service/mot plan that gave us an additional 2 year warranty but this has expired now and the car is too old to renew it. It had a new turbo a year ago (apparently the chip that controls the turbo had gone wrong) and luckily this was covered by the warranty or it would have cost us over 4k.
Even though its very low milage and we keep it well maintained we are nervous of the next big expensive repair.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a third party warranty company?

You have a 7 Yr old vehicle so the risk of a problem increases.
Low milage doesn't lessen the risk if anything it increases it as these are a converted commercial vehicle and designed for high milage and constant use.
There are 3rd party warranties that are happy to take your money but the exclusions can be significant .
Overall your probably better to put a sum of money aside on a regular basis to cover unexpected expenses
