Hi all, just after advice please. Could you let me know how easy it is to replace the tap as I think the micro switch has gone in my tap as it only works on the odd occasion. I wandered how the water connects on to it. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

The water pipe connects at the tap base with a standard “jubilee” clip.
You need a basin spanner to unscrew the plastic lock nut that clamps the tap to the sink unit.

Tap from the shop

But you will need to solder the original tap electric connector to the above tap (or these for solder free connection

Everything else is plug and play.

Before you change the tap I would fit the relay that reduces the current that flows through the micro switch . Very easy job and will cost less than £10 in parts. The tap may well work after fitting it. My tap was working intermittently and I cleaned the contacts a couple of times and it worked for a while afterwards but always went back to been intermittent. Once the relay was fitted it has never let me down. Even if you fit a new tap it will eventually fail as the micro switch isn’t big enough for the current of the water pump . There are diagrams and pictures on this site that shows you how to do it.

You could just swap out the old microswitch and replace with a new one, mine was about £10. Very easy to do and no issues since. Also I used a small terminal block for new connection.
