Which of the two slots on the awning rail do others use to attach an awning/kador strip? Is it the larger top slot or the smaller rail slots underneath?

I had tried putting the 6mm kador strip in the larger top rail and it is easy to pull out. I can put the 4mm or 6mm kador strip in the lower rail and it is a tight fit. This has the disadvantage of only being able to pull the kador strip through from the back of the van. I am assuming the top rail is for other fitments such as the emergency tie down strap should the hydraulics fail.

The upper rail is called. T-track rail and is for the fitting of roof rails etc. There does not seem to be too many other uses and it does seem ripe for accessories even something to allow an easy drive away kador. I do recall Brandrup did an accessory for the old t5.1 rail where two short kador type fittings were used to squeeze into the track and together were nice and solid and held a water carrier. Must look again for one it was useful. I’d be interested if any other uses for the track had been found.

Thanks. I have been using the lower slot for the drive away awning with a kador strip. Previously only had caravans which have a single awning rail.
The upper rail can take accessories such as washing line attachment and other stuff from Brandrup and Yes Campervan.
The T7 California has other rails on the pop top which I have already used to fix my solar panel too.

We picked up a second hand Isabella X tension awning this week and I put it up today and used the upper slot. Perfect fit
