T6.1 Engine Software Update

My wife’s 2023 Ocean is in the local dealer’s tomorrow for its first MOT; we received a call today confirming the booking and requesting permission to undertake a software update on the engine.

Has anyone else had this update undertaken recently? Any ideas what it’s for?

Given VW’s history with software in general, I can’t help but wonder if after the update we’ll enjoy lower MPG and inferior drivability.

I’m pretty sure the software update won’t address the sagging roof or sticking rear climate control buttons (again)…

If it is for campaign 23BB, then they updated the engine software on my 2024 204 Ocean a few months ago.

I can't say I have noticed a great deal of difference in the way the engine performs.

Mine also needed campaign 19W9 carrying out which relates to a coolant hose. I guess the campaigns are based on VIN number, so yours might not need 19W9 doing.
