Are you thinking of installing a solar panel on the roof in the future? If so it can be wited to charge the leisure batteries AND the starter battery.

No do not want a permanent one , I have a large suitcase type panel , but to large for windshield

Put the fold open suitcase type solar panel on dash board and its now charging my leisure battery up from 11.00 volts to 13.6 volts so now happy with that at the moment

The smaller one is plugged into cigar lighter in ashtray ( to engine battery ) the larger twin panel plugged In cigar socket on side if kitchen ( to leisure battery ) my tracker tells me what voltage is on the leisure battery

My new leisure batteries seem to be slipping so bought this. Reading old threads, Loz seemed to say it was fine to plug into cigarette sockets. He was very insistent and I trust him. I have a 2008 T5 though so I am assuming the cigarette socket which is at the end of the bench seat by the sliding door would be where I should plug into.

I am tempted to wire a flyaway cable to the battery under the passenger seat.

I may not start this until after our summer holiday. Then begins the 6 month park up.

Did you carry on doing this as a solution?
Did is work?

My engine battery is fine but my leisure batteries seem to be slipping so I was going to plug into cigarette socket which for my 2008 is near the door at the end of the bench.
I think a trickle should be enough. £60 seemed preferable to full solar.
