Hi - i can see there has been a bit about sliding window failure on the forum but cant see anything about repair options - the sliding window runs along a bottom rail - this rail is bonded to the glass so the whole unit is free of the door - the part that bonds against the glass window is metal and this is prone to rusting when the window seal breaks down - my California Beach 2016 has two opening sliding windows in the rear - the drivers window has failed the passenger one is OK. So my questions are - has anyone managed to bond the rail back onto the glass ? there is only about 2mm max to play with - thinking i could squirt some glue down the gap but i dont know how wide the metal part is ? whether the glue will stick the rusty rail as i cant get to it with the window in place ?

I have discounted getting an aftermarket window as the tints wont match - i have the option of a VW T6 replacement or a VW fixed glass which is fine.

Apparently - i understand the T6.1 sliding window is an improvement on the T6 ? - does anyone know about this - and will the T6.1 fit the T6 without too much trouble - i understand it may require a bit of trim to tidy up a gap ? Many thanks Tim IMG_8411.jpegIMG_8412.jpegIMG_8413.jpeg
