Posting this well in advance of next years event, particularly because it's unique.
Every year the region of Champagne holds a "Fete " where producers of a particular Village open up their whole village and champagne facilities and vineyards and celebrate everything "Champagne " & more.
I've been twice and both times were a different experience and different village within the champagne region, the commonality is the friendliness and celebration of the hosts.
There is always a free option for camping within the Festival. Various (lots) of food outlets etc.
Camping Details are released in the new year, they vary dependent on which village is hosting the event.
It's a totally unique family friendly event, my teenage kids loved it. Day time is a totally different vibe to night time.

Camping in a vineyard?
I know this is very stereotypical, but does anyone know of any campsites in either the Loire or Massif Central (or somewhere between the two) where you can camp at a vineyard, maybe do a wine tasting but ideally that takes children (for the camping element, less so the wine tasting). Cheers
