Roof dropped on one side only

Hi there, we have a big problem that we need assistance with. First of all I trawled the forum for a similar situation but can’t find one close enough to ours.

We are in Croatia on holiday and yesterday in 28 degrees heat we put the roof up. All went ok but after 10 mins the roof dropped significantly on the passenger side and hydraulic oil was pouring down the canvas and onto the body paint work, on that side only. The drivers side stayed fully open. The roof is skewed because of this.

Unsure of consequences of pushing roof down with regard to more oil being exuded from the point of the leak, wherever that is.

Any advice would be more than welcome to get us out of a quite sticky situation.

Sounds like you’ll need to do the manual lowering procedure, possibly seal has gone in the ram, then use the emergency tie down kit.

Thanks for getting back so quick vmaxkiddy, appreciated.
Yes indeed you are spot on, there is evidence of the ram seal having ‘blown’

I dread the day that we have to manually lower the roof in such circumstances.
Good luck, let us know how it goes, :(

Confusingly the part number stated on the sticker adhered to the ram seems to be the number for the hydraulic motor. I believe the correct number for a 2011 T5 SE is 7H7 875 795
Not - IMG_5859.jpeg
7H7 959 705A as stated on the label (see image above).

Thanks for confirmation of pt no Welshgas.
Preparing to drop roof manually and strap the roof down. Managed to get light console control and the central control panel removed but there is yellow foam with no slotted screw to release oil back to reservoir obvious. Do I need to locally trim the yellow foam to gain access to the screw?

Yellow Foam locally trimmed and slotted screw located behind it - Phew!IMG_5862.jpeg
