That's useful info, thanks. I was looking for a solution to try and avoid the high credit card charges when used abroad. But it's definitely worth knowing credit cards normally work when you're low on fuel!

It's a moving target, I'm afraid.
We make sure we are not so low that we can't move on to another fuel station if they won't take your card, especially on Sunday when lots in France are closed.
